School Attendance Procedures
Due to the busyness of the Front Office, please always make sure to leave a message when you call.
Whether your student is checking in late for school or leaving early, we want to make sure we are marking their attendance correctly.
On top of helping students, our Front Office staff have multiple calls coming in all day, and even though they do their best to answer all of the calls, they are only able to take one call at a time.
If you are able to put in an Early Release/Absence in ParentConnect, do not worry about calling! Our Front Office staff is notified and will make sure your student is taken care of.
If you do need to call in for an Early Release ("Blue Pass") pass, please make sure you give the Front Office as much time as possible to get the pass to your student. Our Front Office staff does their best to get passes to your student as soon as possible, but having ample amount of time to get the pass ready for our Office Aides to run is super helpful.
If you have any questions about the process, feel free to email:
Christine Gilgus (Registrar/Attendance) - gilgus_christine@asdk12.org
Tatiana Perez (Administrative Assistant) - perez_tatiana@asdk12.org
Pre-arranged Absence:
- If you plan to be away 3 or more days, please coordinate with your student's teachers for procedures to complete work. If you need help finding email addresses, you can find them on our Staff Page.
Blue Pass (Official Pass to Leave School):
- A "Blue Pass" can be obtained by either calling the Front Office, having your student bring a note to the Front Office, or putting in an attendance notification in ParentConnect.
- Please avoid making appointments during tests and finals and/or showing up at the last minute.
- Students leaving school with a Blue Pass must check in with the office before they leave the building.
- Students leaving school without a Blue Pass are considered truant.
Automated Attendance Notification System
- Calls and/or emails will be sent daily from ASD Data Processing Center, for students showing one or more absences for that day. These calls typically go out around 6:00pm during the school week.
